I spotted their cord-wrangling accessories at the Grand St. soho pop-up store this weekend. Grand St. is always showcasing the coolest in new-age tech products, and their temporary brick-and-mortar allowed shoppers to play a bit with many of the techie toys available on their e-commerce site. The Cord Taco and the Cordito are as aptly-named as they are adorable. Because, as This Is Ground’s About page so adroitly states, “who doesn’t love mexican food.” Anyone that knows me knows full-well I have a soft spot for spicy & southwest cuisine, but what I I also fell for was TIG’s soft buttery leather and their simple designs. They make durable, quality, timele
ss storage for tech accessories. Period. Of course I was thinking of all the additional uses and implications of the Cord Taco–keeping multiple pens and markers together, wrangling pocket change, or stuffing a plastic bag inside to keep it compact until ready for reuse.
(I swear when I make it big I’m going to offer you free, very cool stuff for coming up with new ideas for how to use this stuff…it behooves you to continue reading this blog. And fo
r thinking outside the uh, taco.*) I am excited to explore and wear-test my new Cordito to the extremes and plan to use it as my mobile roll-up junk drawer. And may apply to be an unorthodox product wear-tester, should they be hiring.
What I like about this brand is it is not trying to re-invent the wheel. Groundbreaking? Maybe not. This is Ground is a soft, safe place to lay your hardware, and bonus, the Cargito will charge it for you too, at no extra charge.
*Disclaimer: Maybe this goes without being said, but I get no free tacos or fun photography trips to Venice Beach for anything you read on here. Nope, I do this for the sheer joy of cool people making awesome, functional stuff. If you need extras of people to eat tacos on a boardwalk, though, I’m your babe. #JustSayin*
